A big trend for mehndi’s is the floral jewellery such as earrings, gajras (bracelet), and hair chotlis.
I have been making a variety of mehndi floral jewellery made from fresh and silk flowers in bright and bold colours that gives the desi aura with the exotic and vibrant colours and flowers.
The designs are simple yet still stand out with the bright colours and hot pink is a very popular choice along with yellow and green. Majority of items are made with roses or chrysanthemums which are best option for mehndi’s.
The hot pink mehndi set has to be my favourite one, the roses, colours and design all work well together along with the vibrant rainbow gajras for family members.
The floral hair chotlis have been just as popular made in a variety of colours with the tips being finished off with roses; and for a more traditional look, below are a couple of photos of a floral hair chotli and gajra in silk red roses with gold and red beads in between.

This summer I got to do a theme which has also been on my list, a peacock theme. Many will say peacock feathers are bad luck for weddings, however the peacock colours are just beautiful, bold and vibrant.
I have taken the peacock theme to a new contemporary format, whereas in the past, the feathers were added in between the flowers which doesn’t really give a good finishing for the bouquets. Adding the feathers on top of the bouquets and on the handle, make it look more modern and contemporary, shows the theme off and the dashes of jewels and the brooch add that extra sparkle to the theme.
The collection consists of bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, buttonholes and decorated floral candelabras. Made with ivory avalanches and aspen roses, blue dyed roses, lisianthus, freesias, brooches, jewels, peacock feathers and foliage.

To take away our mind off the typical cold British winter, I think its time to brighten up our day with some bright and colourful blooms. The exotic flowers are a great trend for Summer weddings that give the instant ‘wow’ factor with the bright and bold colours.
Mixing things up are a great way of being different, creating focal points with the variety of flowers and colours, and to create a great stylish and modern impact finish off with mirrored vases or plates.
The exotic are a must for those who loves to have a bold and colourful statement, it will always look contemporary and stylish, whichever exotic flowers you choose, but do choose these flowers when they are in season, but do be cautious not to go over the top or clash with your dress, as tropical bouquet next to a detailed or colourful dress will look too overpowering.
Here are some great bold and colourful ideas for that Summer wedding!
