The Gatsby Bouquet

Making a new design isn’t easy even when you have done lots of research and planned out how to make it.
The Gatsby Bouquet has been a challenging bouquet to make, but overall when completed it look fabulous and hopefully the Gatsby himself would approve too.

The Gatsby Bouquet was inspired by the film itself where i loved all the Tiffany jewels, art deco and vintage inspiration and an on going theme for weddings too.
Here i have made a fully complete brooch bouquet, made with a variety of brooches with added pearls around; it is a must have bouquet for the bride that dares to be different! And even finished off with a monogram initial, which are new for this year and makes the bouquet more personal for the brides.

2013!… A Sparkling Year It Has Been!

WOW! It’s been a very exciting year with wedding orders coming from all over the UK and International too!

The alternative bouquet has been so popular this year! The silk and crystal and brooch bouquets have been travelling everywhere from Manchester to London, to America and Africa; great for keepsakes and for those who are getting married abroad.

This year I made my first Crystal Heart bouquet for Valentine’s, one the hardest bouquets I have made to date and the red bouquets just keep on getting popular and look great in many of the designs I have made this year. I have made such a variety of bouquets that I have loved making this year, the Enchanted Bouquet and pearl cascade bouquet have been the biggest trend for this year, even got to make bridal orders for a black and ivory theme and a peacock theme which have been ticked off my wish list; fresh bouquets have been just as popular and cascade bouquets have a made a come back where I have given it a modern look an favourite has to be the one I have made with beautiful fresh vintage roses; adding in touches of lace, brooches and jewels to finish off the fresh bouquets also mehndi floral jewellery has been a big hit too!

I have met so many brides and wedding suppliers this year and got to work with some too; my favourite photo shoot from this year has to be the Mughal inspired shoot with Bhavna, absolutely loved the concept and photos and made the Regal Rose Bouquet popular choice for 2013 brides. I also got to work with Leena and Jensy B, loved the concept and photos too and the bouquets have got to be the quickest bouquets I have made for a photo shoot and to be featured in the Asiana Magazine in various pages, that made my summer; also I cannot forget meeting wedding suppliers at Thornton Manor hosted by Rabbia from Asian Wedding Ideas, would love to meet everyone again!

And not forgetting I held my first bouquet sample sale that attracted many last minutes brides and grabbed sample bouquets at amazing prices, be sure to keep a look out for more sample sales in the future.

From little sparkles on bouquets to full on sparkles; it has definitely been a very Sparkling year!
I could actually go on for ages about this year but I do not think everyone would like to read an essay but I cannot be more than happy for everyone that have come to me for their wedding orders, supported me and have recommended me to others.

I do hope next year has lots more installed for me…Bring on 2014!

Mehndi Floral Jewellery

A big trend for mehndi’s is the floral jewellery such as earrings, gajras (bracelet), and hair chotlis.

I have been making a variety of mehndi floral jewellery made from fresh and silk flowers in bright and bold colours that gives the desi aura with the exotic and vibrant colours and flowers.

The designs are simple yet still stand out with the bright colours and hot pink is a very popular choice along with yellow and green. Majority of items are made with roses or chrysanthemums which are best option for mehndi’s.

The hot pink mehndi set has to be my favourite one, the roses, colours and design all work well together along with the vibrant rainbow gajras for family members.

The floral hair chotlis have been just as popular made in a variety of colours with the tips being finished off with roses; and for a more traditional look, below are a couple of photos of a floral hair chotli and gajra in silk red roses with gold and red beads in between.

A bit of Vintage and a bit of Desi….

I do love it when it others in the wedding industry get in touch with me to collaborate in a photo shoot; the bouquets for this photo shoot has the be the quickest fresh samples bouquets I have ever made within the busy summer wedding season.

As this shoot took place in the summer after I had my sample, I didn’t have the time to make new sample bouquets, only option was to make fresh bouquets; still gave me the chance to make new designs, and the embellishment on the bouquet handle is a definite trend for the following year.

The hot pink calla lily bouquet is a must have for those who love bright colours and have a Bollywood theme wedding too. Made with hot pink calla lilies, pink ethnic jewel and diamante detail; a bouquet that is so simple yet makes a statement.

The ivory vintage bouquet is very chic, I am just in love with these flowers and the handle too! Made with calla lilies, avalanche roses, snowflake roses and freesia, with small jewels, lace, and pearl detailed handle.

The purple, blue and ivory bouquet is great for a peacock theme wedding, as seen in previous post too, is a similar design yet still adds a touch of glam with the jewelled handle. Made with avalanche roses, snowflake roses, blue roses, freesias, lisianthus and small jewels on bouquet handle.

This concept and photo shoot was by Leena, who was also the make up artist, the amazing photography by Jensy B, other contributors have been listed below.

Below are the photos of bouquets that have been taken by me, and the photos from the shoot further down look amazing! The make-up, photography, layout, outfits, models and not forgetting the bouquets, looks fabulous and works well all together.

Vintage Rose Cascade Bouquet

This has to be the biggest, heaviest and toughest bouquet I have made to date!

I am so glad I could make this for my bride; I absolutely love these roses and colours and would make any vintage theme wedding look amazing. Making this bouquet was a challenge, took me a while to make too as it was my first time making a cascade bouquet without any foliage; yet it was worth it to see my bride happy with it. My photos do not do this bouquet any justice, it is definitely a bouquet that you would appreciate in front of you.

The vintage rose cascade was made with rosa grande roses, amnesia roses, safi roses, sweet avalanche roses, ivory avalanche roses, memory lane roses, lace, French millinery net, pearls and jewels… a very long list for a beautiful vintage cascade bouquet.

Even managed to make a bouquet for myself as I had a few spare roses left!

2012- A Blooming Great Year It Has Been!

What a year 2012 has been!

This was the year of introducing crystal and brooch bouquets which has been and still is a very popular choice for alternative bridal bouquets. Also brought in new ideas all time yet still do not have time to make more samples as the orders just keeping coming in which is great!

I managed to organise my own photo shoot for the Diamond Jubilee, with a little help from contributors, and using patriarchal colours of red, white and blue, I created unique and contemporary bouquets to suit the occasion. Took part in a wedding fair in Manchester at The Midland’s Hotel, hopefully will take part in many more wedding fairs in the near future. The biggest change was giving the brand a whole new make over with the new website, logo, packaging, business cards and postcards.

I have met many brides this year, I am glad that I have met them and have provided them beautiful custom-made bridal bouquets and accessories, I would like to thank them for their compliments also recommending me to others.

I would also like to thank to those that have also supported and recommended me to others, their clients as well as those that have helped me to rebrand myself with the new makeover, which I love!

With a succesful year in 2012, I do hope that 2013 will be an even bigger and better year!

Below are some of the highlights of 2012 and please do check out my Facebook page, Floral Creations by Reena, where there are lots more photos from this year.

Crystal Teardrop Bouquet

Crystal and brooch bouquets have become a very popular bouquet choice for many as it is everlasting, a keepsake, can be passed down down and best of all a momentum of your wedding day.

I have been making many round crystal and brooch bouquet, but now slowly many brides want a different option than a “standard” round bouquet, teardrop shape bouquet adds the extended shape, but stays away from the cascade shape that is longr and to many may seem “old fashion”. The teardrop shape is very elegant and will look great on any bride.

Below are photos of crystal and broch teardrop bouquets that have proven to be popular with brides.

Embellish those bouquet handles

As most of you will know by now that my work, as seen on previous posts and from my page, that I love embellishing and “blinging” up my bridal bouquets, but don’t let that stop you from adding that extra touch to the handle of the bridal bouquet.

The traditional way is using satin ribbons, which will always look the best, but there are different ribbon techniques that can be used, also by adding a diamante buckle, brooches, pearls and beads. These embellishments can be added to the middle of your bouquet handle, but if you don’t want anything to get in the way of you holding your bouquet, then you can always add the embellishment at the top of the bouquet handle, which looks just as good.

Below are some ideas that can jazz up your bridal bouquet handle and will look great on either fresh or silk flower bridal bouquets.

Single ribbon with row of pearls.

Ribbon overlay with pearls.

Satin ribbon with organza ribbon bow.

Satin ribbon with pearl string overlay.

Brooch embellishment.

Square diamante buckle.

Small rectangle diamante buckle with pattern ribbon.

Pearls and beads embellishment.

Pearl and beads embellishment.

The Modern Cascade Bouquet

For many years the bridal bouquets has been made in many different styles such as the classic hand tied bouquet, cascade bouquet, sheaf bouquet and the pomander.

As fashion trends are constantly changing, so are wedding trends; and bridal bouquets have changed a lot as mentioned in my ‘fresh or faux blog post’. Not only are many brides opting for an everlasting hand tied bouquet, cascade bouquets have changed and becoming a popular choice for brides this coming year.

Below I have created a new everlasting cascade bouquet with trails of pearls and beads, a big trend for this years wedding and looks elegant with the flowing pearls and beads as well as the main floral bouquet too. Another way for those brides who like to different and unique.
